Rare Stratton Countess compact mirror unused NOS new old stock compacts 1962, 1963 / 1965

These photos have not captured the beauty of this compact the bronze enamel has tiny and evenly placed golden highlights that are so small and subtle the enamel does look like bronze.
A superb unused Stratton " Countess " loose powder compact in factory fresh new old stock condition as seen in The Stratton Key. This compact was made as a part of the Stratton luxury range. The " Countess " was only available in 1962, 1963 and 1965 and is the only wedge shaped Stratton compact. The compact was described by the makers as " Autumn leaves on bronze enamelled background is the decor for this " Countess " compact. Highly polished bevelled gilt surround. Self-opening lid." To find this accessory in good condition would have been a treat but to discover it as though it has arrived from the factory is such a thrill. It is a collector's piece that really should remain unused and part of a collection. The bevelled mirror gives a perfect reflection. The original mirror sticker is in place. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The inner lid is decorated with the " Compact-in-Hand logo. The self-opening mechanism works perfectly every time. The underside of the inner lid has a gilt finish and the powder well has a protective layer of white enamel. The original luxurious puff and velour edged sifter are pristine. The original pouch was designed to look like watered silk. All gleaming, pristine and gilt. The base is decorated with the all over star pattern. On image five the base has a little shadow at the bottom of the image which is all it is a shadow from the light. In person the base has an even gilt design without any fading, dark patches or variation.
This rare Stratton compact measures 2 4/5 x 2 7/10 & weighs 107.2 grams.
