A beautiful compact crafted by the makers of the Melissa brand for Boots The Chemist in the 1960s. The lid is ornamented with an engine turned design which is often seen on Melissa brand vanities. The interior is fitted with a gilded powder well and golden foiled paper insert. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. There are some age related marks on the mirror glass. All catches and hinges work perfectly. The base is decorated with a bold spiral design. Measures 7.5 cm diameter. Weighs 85.9 grams. The compact is fitted with a pristine pouch and puff. This compact does not bear the Melissa signature which was common for those vanities destined for the shelves of Boots The Chemist.
