Magnificent Fully Hallmarked 9ct Gold Locket On 18 Inch 9ct Necklace
A magnificent fully hallmarked 9ct gold locket which was assayed* (tested for gold purity*) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1914. This wonderful antique is ornamented with the most romantic symbolism. Florid acanthus leaves adorn the exterior case. Acanthus leaves express the desire for longevity or immortality. The heart shaped cartouche ensures that this piece conveys the most romantic message. The hinge and catch work well. The mark appears to be that of J Aitkin & Son.
The interior case contains the original backings and black moire linings which ensure ease of attachment for all photographs.
