A beautiful 1960s Stratton 'Rondette' powder compact with an attractive gold tone rose motif set in low relief. The gold tone background lid decoration was named 'Linen' by the makers of Stratton accessories. It is has an etched / textured appearance & yes it does look like linen. The whole compact is in very good condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives an excellent reflection as you will see on image two. This compact is fitted with a self-opening lid, a mechanism that was invented to protect ladies from breaking their nails when they opened the inner lid. Just tilt the mirror back slightly & the inner lid opens. It works perfectly every time. The powder well is protected by a pristine paper insert. The base is decorated with stars & signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'.
This vintage powder compact is suitable for use as a handbag mirror.
This compact mirror measures 2 3/4" & weighs 75 grams.
