Vintage Kigu Minuette Musical Powder Box
A delightful 1950s Kigu 'Minuette' made in Kigu's heyday. It is very beautiful with two hearts engraved on the central cartouche on the lid. The interior all gilt jeweller's /jeweler's finish & signed 'KIGU' within the registered triangular trademark & the word 'Minuette' inscribed too. Turn the key clockwise four times & the adorable tune plays really well.
Just delightful! There is a beautiful engine turned design on the lid & the original puff & sifter are present. A black velvet draw string pouch is included. The whole musical powder box is in very good condition. The bevelled mirror gives a good & accurate reflection - there are some age related marks on the mirror on the right hand side. I have included close up images for you to examine every detail including the mirror - images three & four for mirror shots. The edges are scalloped & the base decorated with an engine turned design of radians. The base is signed 'KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND'.
This 1950s Kigu ' Minuette' measures 31/4" & weighs 115.8 grams.
