Vintage Kigu Compact Mirror Loose Powder Compact 1950s

A beautiful vintage Kigu compact mirror that can be traced on the Kigu archive.
Just delightful! The lid, interior and base have expertly produced guilloche engravings which gleam as they catch the light. The lid has a blank circular cartouche which could be engraved. It was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel which means it will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. The lid lifts to reveal a perfect mirror surrounded by a golden bezel. The bezel is marked "PATENTED MADE IN ENGLAND". The inner lid is decorated with honeycomb guilloche engraving. A central oval cartouche is signed "KIGU" within the Kigu triangular trademark. The original sifter is in place. This pretty vintage compact is in very good condition. It measures 7.3 cm and weighs 82.5 grams. All clasps & hinges work perfectly.

This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
