This is such a good example of the Kigu 'all gilt jeweller's finish'! Such dazzling beauty! This retro Kigu 693 Series Convertible compact features a textured gilt background with twisted rope design in low relief which intersects to form diamond shapes. All the sides, the lid and base have this wonderful gilt pattern. The condition of this 1970s vanity is evidence of the high quality workmanship and materials which typify Kigu Ltd. accessories. The compact is in excellent condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The interior case contains a large clear mirror which gives a good and accurate reflection. The mirror bezel is signed 'KIGU OF LONDON MADE IN ENGLAND'. The powder well surround is satinized & the whole interior is gilt. The powder well is protected by a waxed paper insert. The original 'KIGU PLUS' washable sifter is in place. It is clean and does not look like it has been used. The original instruction leaflet reads as follows: 'KIGU OF LONDON Convertible COMPACT for loose or solid powder. The "KIGU PLUS" sifter is WASHABLE, HYGENIC and of LASTING QUALITY PATENTED. To fit or release the solid powder press the spring catch. PATENTED.' This item was coated with a layer of durable transparent enamel which will continue to protect it and ensure that it does not tarnish. It will not need to be cleaned. A brand new clean puff is included in this sale - ready to use.
