The lid is captivating - a floral enamel design in gilt, red and yellow on a contrasting black enamel background. This highly collectible 1960s compact mirror is unused and comes with the original signed puff & sifter as well as a black pouch. There isn't any loss of enamel / design. The original protective waxed paper insert is still in the powder well as is the instruction leaflet that the manufacturers included. It reads 'KIGU OF LONDON Convertible COMPACT for loose or solid powder. The "KIGU PLUS" SIFTER IS.....OF LASTING QUALITY PATENTED. To remove empty container insert nailfile into gap.' This item was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel which will prevent it from tarnishing. It will retain its good looks and never need to be cleaned. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a clear and accurate reflection. The base is engraved with the stylish guilloche design we have come to associate with this brand.
