Unused vintage compacts boxed Stratton blue enamel powder compact 1960s vintage bridesmaids gifts
A very beautiful unused boxed enamel Stratton 'Slim-Convertible' powder compact. All the original accessories are included. The compact is in superb condition & it shows why this brand dominated British compact manufacturing throughout the twentieth century. The lid has the most beautiful white roses and foliage. There is no loss of design. The background enamel is lustrous cobalt blue. Just delightful! The gleaming brass is a deep rich gold tone and it is protected by a layer of clear enamel which means it will never oxidize and become tarnished. This compact will never need to be cleaned. The mirror is excellent and gives a clear accurate reflection. Included with this excellent compact is the original signed Stratton box, felt pouch, silk and fabric puff, velour edged sifter, instruction leaflet, inspection docket. They are all in excellent unused condition. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The base is decorated with the all over star pattern and signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. The base is in superb condition too - the top half of the base is showing some reflections - in person the base is a uniform deep gold colour. This compact is suitable for use with loose and pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.
