Unused 1950s Cased Silver Plated Stratton Makeup Compact And Matching Lipstick Holder In Original Outer Box

We have run out of stock for this item.

Such an adorable and hard to find unused 1950s Stratton makeup compact and matching lipstick set in the original hard case.

The silver plated Stratton Princess loose foundation compact and lipstick holder have the most delightful satinized finishes which are embellished with charming floral bouquets. See image two for a close-up. There isn't any loss of design or fading. The items are in very good condition, as are the original accessories - felt pouch, signed puff, sifter and instruction leaflet. The original mirror sticker is in place. The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. The compact and lipstick case are signed Stratton. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The base of the compact is adorned with smooth tone silver stars on a textured background.

The compact measures 7.3 cm diameter and weighs 82.3 grams.

The lipstick holder measures 5.4 cm long. The internal diameter of the lipstick holder cap measures 14 mm. Weighs 9.3 grams.

This compact is ideal for use with loose foundation, as a handbag mirror or cherished collectible.

Such a nice touch that the makers colour co-ordinated the pouch and the daisy-form flowers!

It is unusual to find these cases in the original outer cardboard box.

The outer box is stamped with the item code 4529/394.

The original hard case is clad in imitation leather which the makers referred to as luxon. It is lovely and clean with gilt lines on the lid. The interior case is fitted with recesses which are glad in beautiful royal blue velvet. The lid of the interior case is lined with cream coloured silk which is stamped Stratton in an elegant gilt font. The cream silk is the only aspect of this set which looks as though it has some age - it has a few pale faded orange age spots, which are not unpleasant to look at.
