A beautiful vintage sterling silver St Christopher pendant which is double sided.
This handmade 1970s pendant has the most enchanting reverse side (image one). A charming diamond shaped disk showing a car parked near a ship, above the ship is an aircraft. The disk is hallmarked with the maker's mark G. J LTD.
On the other side St. Christopher carrying the Christ child.
According to legend, Saint Christopher devoted his life to carrying those too weak to cross the river, on his back. One night he carried a child. With each step the child became heavier. When he questioned the child why this was happening the child replied that he was Christ and that he was carrying the weight of the world.
