Scarce Enamel Stratton Regency Loose Powder Compact 1950s
A scarce 1950s enamel Stratton Regency loose powder compact with a lid decoration depicting François Boucher's famous Rococo painting The Bird Cage (1763). This is such a lovely ornate mid-century vanity. The lid has a very subtle hard to see crackle effect on the glaze which is delightful. There isn't any loss of enamel / design. The enamel is framed by an elegant engraved gilt lid surround. The Regency is one of the Stratton brand line of luxury vanities. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The inner lid is decorated with vertical lines and a square cartouche engraved with the Compact-in-Hand logo and the Stratton signature. The original sifter and pouch are included. Measures 3 3/8 inch and weighs 108.8 grams.
This compact is suitable for loose face powder or a highly collectible handbag mirror.
