This is a rare 1950s Stratton powder compact.The model itself a 'Queen with complete inner lid' is rare - only having two known years of availability 1957 & 1958. This lid decoration is also rare. In addition this amazing Stratton compact mirror has all the original accessories & it is pristine & unused. HOW FABULOUS! The lid is high quality black enamel with a signed oil painting of a fox shown in superb detail. The whole compact is in excellent condition. The signature is on the extreme lower left of the fox - very subtle. The compact is in factory fresh condition - you know when you open them and they feel quite stiff like they have not been opened before and the self-opening mechanism is so taut the slightest movement of the mirrored lid backwards opens the inner lid. The base is glorious, gleaming & delightful - the famous all over star pattern.
This magnificent 1950s Stratton 'Queen with compete inner lid' measures 3 1/2" & weighs 128.1 grams.
