A rather special and rare unused 1950s Stratton Star loose powder compact with the most evocative enamel lid depicting grouse in the English countryside.
We have wanted one of these vanities for a long time but until now we have not seen one in an unused condition. The original pouch, puff and sifter are present. The enamel is absolutely delightful. There isn't any enamel loss or fading. The catches and hinges work as they should. The mirror gives an accurate reflection. The original mirror sticker is in place. The underside of the inner lid is gilt and the whole vanity has the appearance of a luxury accessory. The inner lid is decorated with horizontal engine turned lines and a square cartouche signed Stratton just underneath the Compact-in-Hand logo. Matching horizontal lines adorn the base. Measures 8 cm long and weighs 103.3 grams.
