This powder compact is so rare no one knows who the maker is except to say it is American made c.1930.

The lid is adorable - a subtle pale green & in very good condition. The elephant has a tiny eye that matches the lid colour too. The silver coating on this case is in good condition. The outer hinge & clasp work perfectly. They are brass which provides a nice contrast to the silver tone case.The metal mirror is excellent. The inner case is black & matching pale green too. The inner lid does not catch like & stay shut but then I do not expect anyone to buy this compact to use as it is too rare. The powder well is black & the inner lid opens to the right hand side which is unusual. The base is in good condition & is decorated with guilloche engraving. Measures 2" & weighs 47.4 grams.
