An ornate fully hallmarked sterling silver Victorian bracelet. The front of the bangle is absolutely beautiful! Hand engraved floral motifs and raised detailing depict the iconic and symbolic plant, Convolvulus – better known as the bindweed flower. The blossoms have velvety, trumpet-like heads and they are crafted on this antique bracelet in rose gold. In the Victorian era bindweed represented attachment and family bonds. Some of the leaves are adorned with yellow gold. At the top and bottom tiny sterling silver orbs decorate this charming piece. The bracelet is fully hallmarked. It was made in 1884 (gothic lower case k), lion passant (sterling silver), Birmingham assayed (anchor), makers mark 'J.B S'. The hinge and catch work perfectly. The back of the bracelet is not engraved. There are some signs of use on the back including a ding near the catch (image eight) but these are not at all visible when the bangle is being worn. However, this is reflected in the price.
Wrist size: This bracelet fits wrists measuring up to 6 1/2 inches comfortably.
