A well made cigarette case by the highly collectible maker Georg Adam Scheid. It is a fully hallmarked 900 silver case made c.1900. It is hallmarked 'G.A.S. Dianakopf 900'. It also bears the Halbmond und Krone (crescent moon & crown) hallmark too. The lid, base & all sides have a robust linear engine turned design. With two thumb catches for easy of opening. All clasps & hinges work perfectly & the hinge is strong & spring loaded - hence the shot with a finger visible holding the case open. The interior is gilded. Both the lid & base are hallmarked. It has a ding on the base. Measures 8 cm X 4.5 cm & weighs 64.5 grams.
