Extremely Rare Bracelet Compact Albert FLAMAND Claudine Cereda EXCITING PARIS
In the 1930s Albert FLAMAND founded the company Flamand Manufacturer. Flamand invented a plating process "Fladium". Fladium is a metal with a protective oxide layer. The production involves an electrolytic process in which the metal forms the anode. The result of this process is a high quality finish which will not tarnish or need to be cleaned. As a result this bracelet compact has a lustrous rich golden copper appearance which remains in superb condition.

The firm became noted for this process and also for the production of a series of bracelet compacts which are hard to find. The theme of these accessories was well known artists, such as Josephine Baker, French opera star Claudine Cereda & Lucienne Boyer. The films / productions in which these artists starred are featured on the original presentation boxes.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a novelty compact made by the legendary Flamand Company. This bracelet compact comes in the original presentation box promoting the famous artist Claudine Cereda for her role in " Exciting Paris ". The lid of the presentation box is decorated with images of famous Parisian landmarks - the Eiffel Tower, Casino de Paris & the Moulin Rouge. Around the edges of the lid are durable waxed paper panels. The box opens to show the interior which has a signed photograph of Claudine Cereda. Above this printed on a panel " EXCITING . PARIS " & the signature of Claudine Cereda. The interior base has a raised area to hold the bracelet in place.
The bracelet is very beautiful and highly collectible. The finish is superb gleaming gold with a copper hue. The bracelet has three star shapes cut out on each side. A twisted rope effect around the lid and a pale yellow Bakelite top set with seven golden stars. The Bakelite top opens to reveal a small mirror which gives a good reflection. The original card edged sifter is present and it is in excellent condition. The underside of the bracelet is signed " Claudine Céréda " and also bears the trademark
" A FLAMMAND FLADIUM DEPOSE ". This accessory is proof indeed that Albert Flammand's invention provides a durable finish. This novelty compact is in super condition and will never need to be cleaned or lose its lustrous sheen. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror has slight silver loss around the edges which in no way detracts from the appeal of this extremely rare vanity.
