Certainly this can be classed as an ultra vanity. As you would expect this compact mirror is superbly made. This item is in excellent condition. The incised diamond shapes match perfectly on all the sides, lid and base. The hinge is concealed. The whole compact comprises of high grade .950 silver apart from the thumb catch which is rose gold - meaning that this piece is suitable as either a silver or golden wedding anniversary gift, when only the most impressive gift will do. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The original .950 silver sifter gauze is in place and in good order which means this compact can still be used with loose face powder. The compact, sifter and mirror bezel are hallmarked in multiple places. The centurion hallmarked prefixed with the numeral 1 denoting .950 silver can clearly be seen in the powder well. The powder well wall is signed 'HERMES PARIS'. The bevelled mirror gives an excellent and accurate reflection. A rare Art Deco collectible of great quality. Measures 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm and weighs 147.1 grams.
