Antique Solid Gold Double Portrait Locket On 9 Carat Gold Necklace
A superb fully hallmarked antique gold double portrait locket which is suspended from a stylish 18 inch 9 carat gold necklace.
This solid gold locket pendant was assayed* (tested for gold purity*) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1921.
The anterior surface is decorated with a flower basket which includes two forget-me-not flowers.
The posterior surface is ornamented with a garland of flowers and two delightful swallows.
Forget-me-not flowers symbolise deep love and respect.
Swallows have long been a lucky talisman for travellers.
They signify that the traveller will have a safe journey home.
Garlands of flowers are often believed to convey feelings of joy and devotion.
The original 9 carat gold frames, black material and clear portrait protectors are present.
