Antique G. Lemoine Art Deco Celluloid Powder Compact
An exceptionally rare antique French Art Deco foil powder compact in excellent condition. An unused collector's piece with the original powder pan still with the protective cover in place & the luxurious powder puff signed 'G.Lemoine'.
This is so gorgeous! The whole case is a deep rich gold which is echoed by the glorious gold foil borders & foliage. The lid is also decorated with the most delightful flower in full bloom which has minutely detailed gilt accents. Despite this compact being eighty eight years old the lid is undamaged as it has been well protected by the celluloid lid. The case is signed 'G.Lemoine' just under the thumb catch. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The whole of the interior case is beautifully gilded, including the mirror bezel. The mirror is very good & gives an excellent reflection. The base has an Art Deco engine turned design. c.1927/28 Pour Moi Seule by G. Lemoine - a very exciting addition to any collection!
