The compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror. The lid is decorated with high quality mother of pearl. Set atop the lid we see a person pulling a rickshaw. One of the occupants is shielding themselves from the sun with a parasol. The whole set is protected with a layer of lacquer which means it will not need to be cleaned. The gilt border surrounding the mother of pearl decoration is engraved with scrolls. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The bevelled mirror is excellent & gives a good and accurate reflection. The compact is presented with the original puff and sifter. The base is smooth gold tone. This compact measures 7.3 cm diameter. The lipstick holder will hold lipstick tubes measuring 12 mm diameter. The lipstick mechanism works perfectly. The lipstick holder measures 5.5 cm long.
The original presentation case is in very good condition. The case is decorated with a synthetic cover made to look like snake skin. The interior lid is lined with pink silk. The interior base is fitted with crimson velvet over custom made recesses.
