1971 Unused Sterling Silver Kigu Compact For Loose And Compressed Powder
A rare and splendid fully hallmarked sterling silver powder compact which was made by Kigu Ltd. in 1971.

The lid, base and hinge are decorated with a technique for which this maker was famed - the 'Bark' motif.
This decoration is highly textured and resembles the bark of a silver tree.
Subtle gilding is evident on the lid and base.
The beauty of this item will last, as the maker applied a layer of transparent enamel to the sterling silver exterior case during the manufacturing process.
This application ensures that the silver will never tarnish or need to be cleaned.
The original pristine black pouch will further protect this luxurious accessory.
All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
The compact is hallmarked in four places.
The mirror gives a clear and accurate reflection.
The mirror bezel is signed KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND.
This compact contains the original hallmarked silver retaining ring which allows smaller size of powder pans to be securely installed.
Pans of solid powder measuring 59 mm up to 67mm can be fitted in this compact.
The standard size of powder pans (67mm) - Max Factor Creme Puff, Rimmel Stay Matte, Miss Beauty and CCUK will all fit.
The original instruction leaflet is in place.
The original Kigu Plus sifter is also present and so this purse mirror can also be used with all types of loose face powder.
