An unused Stratton refillable powder compact that was made in the 1960s. This striking mid-century vanity has a gilt lid decorated with smooth gold tone highly stylized petal shapes. The background has a subtle textured appearance, all gilt and like the day it was made. This Stratton 'Rondette' compact comes with the original features - box, felt pouch, sifter and puff. What a beauty! The interior case contains an excellent mirror which gives a good clear reflection. The powder well lid is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND. The underside of the inner lid is gilt and satinized. The base is decorated with circular bands of golden stars.Measures 2 3/4" and weighs 74.6 grams.
