This is a really beautiful midnight blue enamel vintage Stratton " Scone " powder compact with a rather unusual design in flawless & top quality enamel. Two male & two female ducks ascending from the reed bed which is shown in immaculate detail so exquisitely rendered that it has a 3D effect. You feel as though you could stroke their tummies as they look raised, but their tummies are quite flat. A wonderful Stratton that would grace any collection. All clasps & hinges work well & the compact is in good condition.
This gorgeous lid lifts to reveal an excellent mirror. The mirror is surrounded by a golden bezel which is marked " MADE IN ENGLAND ". The inner lid is signed " Stratton " & it bears the
" Compact-in-Hand " logo. The original felt pouch, & sifter are present & they are in good
order. The pink puff is signed " Stratton " & it is decorated with the " Compact-in-Hand " logo. The base is decorated with the " coarse spiral " engine turned design.
