A beautiful 1950s enamel Bird Series Stratton 'Convertible' powder compact in new old stock (NOS) condition.

This compact is suitable for use with loose face powder and compressed face powder pans measuring between 60 - 67 mm in diameter. This compact has not been used and has spent the last sixty plus years in the original box. What a delightful vintage vanity! The enamel is gorgeous and in superb condition. Two enchanting Blue tits are perched on twigs. The background enamel is lustrous cobalt blue. All the brass was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent lacquer which mean this accessory will not tarnish or need to be cleaned. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. The mirror bezel is signed ' MADE IN ENGLAND STRATTON PATENT APPLIED'. The interior bears the patent number '764125'. The base is decorated with an engine turned design.  The whole  compact gleams.

The compact comes with all the original features - presentation box, felt pouch, luxury silk and fabric puff, instruction leaflet, velour edged sifter and padded paper insert. The accessories are unused and even the box is still looking attractive. Measures 8 cm and weighs 99.1 grams.
