This vintage compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
This compact has a background of tin foil on which the Lucite dome rests. The presence of tin foil makes this an appropriate and unusual tin / 10th wedding anniversary gift.
A delightful mid-century Melissa loose powder compact. A really pretty compact which has a glorious deep golden patina. The lid is set with a Lucite dome which houses the most adorable two tone pink rose form flowers & two tone stylized bluebells. Next to the pink roses are yellow leaves. All the floral decorations are also fashioned from Lucite. The lid is made even more appealing by beautiful engraving & the gilt finish. The lid opens to reveal a golden interior, a good mirror which gives a clear and accurate reflection. The original puff and sifter are all present and they are in very good condition. The puff bears the trademark Melissa crown. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The inner lid is decorated with a pleasing gilt engine turned design & underside is satinized. The powder well is satinized too. The base is decorated with beautiful guilloche engraving.
This adorable compact mirror measures 7 cm and weighs 79.4 grams.
