Rare Stratton Ceramic Bird Series Powder Compact Hand Painted Enamel Plaque 1960s
A very beautiful and rare Stratton powder compact which was crafted by the premier maker in the 1960s. This Stratton 10-Sided Convertible powder compact is fitted with a hand painted ceramic plaque depicting a highly stylized great blue heron, framed by floral motifs and gilt accents. The original mirror sticker is present.
It reads as follows -

The compact is in good condition. The images do not do it justice. The original sifter is present. The compact and sifter are clean and free of any powder residue. The mirror bezel is signed STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND PAT. PENDING. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The catches and hinges work perfectly. Measures 3 1/4 inches diameter and weighs 111.2 grams.
