An absolutely gorgeous 1950s unused Kigu Lucite basket 'Bouquet' loose powder compact. This delightful and very beautiful Lucite novelty compact is from the 'Old 63-Series'. The compact is in superb condition! A high quality vanity made by one of the most well known premier British makers. It features the most elaborate engine turned designs which resemble a fancy wicker basket. Around the lid and base the 'gilt jeweller's finish' is decorated with a scalloped design. The compact has a 'graceful handle', which is functional and robust. The lid has a Lucite dome which protects the most adorable reverse carved Lucite floral display on vibrant gold tin foil background. The interior case contains an excellent clear mirror, as well as the original signed puff and sifter and the registered Kigu trademark. It is also signed 'Bouquet REG. DES.' All hinges and clasps work perfectly. The whole item is first rate. This piece will never tarnish or need to be cleaned as it was coated with a layer of transparent enamel during the manufacturing process. An immaculate drawstring pouch is included with this item. Measures 5.5 cm and weighs 57.2 grams.
