Rare Wadsworth figural hat box compact vintage novelty powder compacts 1940s
An adorable & well made Wadsworth powder compact. A novelty compact mirror made in the 1940s in the form of a luxurious hat box. The sides & carry handle are made from apricot coloured leather which is in excellent condition, as is the whole compact. The lid & base are brass & both open to reveal deep powder wells. The lid lifts to show a mirror & beautifully gilded powder well which has never been used. The original lambs wool puff & pretty card edged sifter in place. They are perfect & unused. The mirror is gives quite a good reflection - it has a slight age related haze. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The base also opens to show a gilded powder well with a rich patina.
Very rare & in excellent condition - you might not see this one again.
This sweet little figural hat box compact measures 1 1/2" diameter X almost 1" deep & weighs 34.2 grams.
