A beautiful 1950s ballet themed powder compact in excellent condition. This is a rare compact which we have not seen before. The lid has the most enchanting pictorial inlay showing ballet dancers in the most exquisite costumes. There isn't any loss of design or damage. The scene is framed by bezel with an engine turned design. The lid opens to reveal a large clear mirror which gives a perfect reflection. The inner lid and base are decorated with guilloche engraving. The original sifter ( gauze ) is present which means this compact can still be used with face powder. All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
