1950s Kigu Needle Point Petit Point Powder Compact
This is a lovely vintage glitter compact made by Kigu in the 1950s. The powder compact has a petit point floral design protected by an acetate lid. The design still has vibrant colours, as gorgeous as you could imagine. This vintage accessory is in excellent condition. The mirror bezel is inscribed " PATENTED MADE IN ENGLAND ". All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent. The inner lid is signed Kigu within the triangular registered trademark and decorated with circular banded borders. The underside of the inner lid is satinized and the powder well has a protective coat of golden enamel. The sifter is in place and so this compact is suitable for use with loose face powder. The base is decorated with beautiful guilloche engraving.
This mid century compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
This compact mirror measures 8 cm and weighs 96.5 grams.
