This lovely unused fifties compact mirror is fitted with a tin foil scene which depicts a lakeside house, a private jetty and splendid mountain scenery. The foil is such a good medium - the blue water, sky and mountains shimmer in the light.
The compact is in superb condition. The mirror gives a good clear reflection. The original protective covers on the lid and powder well are in place. The base is embellished with a gilt lacquered finish. Measures 8.5 cm diameter. Weighs 76 grams. The catch and hinge work perfectly.
Due to the highly durable finish which the makers applied this compact will not tarnish or need to be cleaned.
The original card edged sifter is present.
