This is such a wonderful antique French vanity! The subject matter makes the compact highly collectible - Cupid stands in a gorgeous wood having just fired the arrow. We have made no attempt to clean the antique vanity - so glorious is the deep dark patina it has acquired over the last 100 years. The lid is finely engraved with great attention to detail. The sides & base are decorated with a guilloche pattern. The base is signed ARTES. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good reflection - lots of very subtle ages spots that just add to charm of this beauty.  Measures just over 1 1/2 inches diameter.
