An adorable musical Mascot branded powder compact in very good condition. It is made to resemble a handbag. A very sound music box - it plays very well. A S Brown, the owners of the Mascot brand, were well known for making top quality compacts in the 1950s & this one is no exception. Superbly made with a good mirror. The lid is decorated with an engine turned design of tiny diamond shapes & pretty flowers. The handle is pretty, ornate & functional. On tilting the handle slightly backwards the lid opens to reveal a good mirror that gives an excellent reflection. The mirror bezel is marked 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN'. The inner lid is very attractive having a design of wavy & parallel lines. It is signed 'Mascot ASB'. The other side of the interior case is decorated with an embossed musical score. The original sifter & puff are in place & they are in good condition. A rare opportunity to purchase an adorable & sought-after musical powder compact. Measures almost 3" X 2 1/2" & weighs 128.7 grams.
