This superbly crafted Italian 800 silver purse mirror dates to the 1950s. The lid and base are embellished with a central flower basket containing six flowers. The most ornate bright-cut foliate engravings give the exterior case a mesmerizing beauty. The foliate at the top of both sides forms a heart shape. Such a romantic gift! The case opens easily to reveal a bevelled mirror which gives a good and accurate reflection. The compact is hallmarked 800 ITALY. The hinge and catch work perfectly. The original sifter gauze is present. A pristine velvet pouch is included. Measures 6.7 cm x 6.5 cm. Weighs 59.9 grams. The compact is in very good condition.
