A rare unused Stratton powder compact in superb condition.
The original item code is stamped on the presentation box - 548/QE/_
QE denotes Queen Elizabeth.
Royal themed Stratton compacts are highly collectible.
This vanity captures a real moment in history.
The pictorial inlay shows HM Queen Elizabeth II & HRH Duke of Edinburgh.
The image was one taken from a photograph by the Court Photographer of the British Royal Family, Stirling Henry Nahum, aka Baron.
The pictorial inlay is the exact image.
The scene has been well protected over the last sixty plus years by the original plastic cover.
Around the edge there is a lacquered & engraved brass rim.
The lid lifts to reveal a good mirror which gives an accurate reflection.
The original presentation box, pouch, puff, sifter and guarantee rosette are included.
The underside of the presentation box lid has two stickers stuck on it.
One is the original mirror sticker.
The other gold foil sticker appears to be a royal coat of arms.
The compact is signed Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND.
All clasps & hinges work perfectly.
The base is decorated with a fine spiral.
The makers lacquered this Coronation Souvenir and so it will tarnish or need to be cleaned.
Measures 7.5 cm diameter. Weighs 89.2 grams.
