Vintage Gwenda Compact Mirror With Matching Glass Powder Bowl 1950s
An adorable vintage Gwenda compact mirror and matching powder bowl set. On the lids delightful engraved designs featuring cherubs holding a basket of flowers aloft. The compact is the unique Gwenda shape which resembles a stylized flower. The front is highly ornate with smooth gold tone bands that echo the flower shape. One of these bands is adorned with tiny flowers. The back is a post deco tribute of wavy lines that echo the flower shape & radiate out from the central circle. The compact is in excellent working condition. The mirror gives a good clear reflection - it has a few age spots. The mirror bezel is signed " Gwenda." The compact measures 3 1/4 ".
The powder jar is also in excellent condition. The brass lid shows exactly the same design as the powder compact & both have the most glorious deep golden patina. The lid screws off to reveal an ample jar which could hold face cream/powder or trinkets.
This dressing table jar measures 3 1/2 inches wide X 2 inches high.
