Unused Vintage Japanese Vanity Set Mother Of Pearl 50s Era
A lovely unused vintage Japanese made vanity set in excellent condition.
More gorgeous vintage makeup compacts.
The compact mirror and lipstick holder are decorated with mother of pearl. The lid of the compact is embellished with a sailing junk. The compact is ideal for all loose foundation, as a handbag mirror or display collectible.
The whole set is protected with a layer of lacquer which means it will not need to be cleaned. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The bevelled mirror gives a good and accurate reflection.
The original display case, pouch, puff and sifter are present.
As you can see from image four this carry case is fashioned to also be used as a display stand.
The base of the compact is smooth gold tone. This compact measures 7.3 cm diameter.
The lipstick holder will hold lipstick tubes measuring 12 mm diameter. The lipstick mechanism works perfectly. The lipstick holder measures 5.5 cm long.
The original presentation case is in very good condition. The case is decorated with a synthetic cover made to look like snake skin. The interior lid is lined with pale pink silk. The interior base is fitted with crimson velvet over custom made recesses.
