We have run out of stock for this item.

This is a beautiful fully hallmarked sterling silver charm bracelet adorned with sterling silver charms. A traditional 1950s good quality curb bracelet with a padlock heart clasp. As this bracelet was made in 1956 the charms are much more detailed than those made decades later. Many of these charms are so intricate this lends us to believe that they were handmade, making this mid-century accessory highly collectible. The heart padlock is hallmarked W.J.S. ( W J Sutton Ltd. ) lion passant ( sterling silver ), G ( 1956 ). We have found that this maker hallmarks every curb link on charm bracelets and this is the case on this item too - each curb is hallmarked lion passant. See image five to see the hallmarks. All clasps and hinges work perfectly.

All the charms are vintage English sterling silver except for the Deutschland shield which is .800 silver. This was particular charm was made in Germany and this grade of silver was often used in Germany.

The bracelet measures 18.4 cm / 7 1/4" inches when closed. The curb height is 7 mm. As you can see the clasp is the traditional heart shaped in the style of a padlock. Charm bracelets were often added to during the life of the owner to mark weddings, births, deaths, where people went on holidays & memorable events. This vintage charm bracelet is a delightful record of days gone by and the previous owners milestones, holidays and treasured purchases.

The charms are all sterling silver (except for the Deutschland shield) and are shown as follows:
A rare 3D moving enamel monkey on an organ. Wind the lever and the tiny monkey moves.
The wheels move when you roll them. The monkey is holding a little bowl to collect donations. This charm has engine turned engraving all over and it is exceptionally well made.
An opening hinged charm with the most delightful detail of a clasp to hold the egg shut. Open the egg to see the chick. This is gorgeous and it reflects the pride of the makers of mid-century British goods.
An elegant 3D key to the door with " 21 " set on.
A 3D opening hinged charm camera. Open the camera to see a tiny bird. The camera is minutely observed - very well made.
A Celtic knot - also known as as the mystic or endless knot, is a symbol that represents the interconnection of everything and the continuous cycle of life.
A 3D boot.
A rare 3D moving enamel telephone dial charm. The phones in this era were charming and their dials were just like this.
A 3D baby bear.
An enchanting and very detailed 3D moving gilded cuckoo clock. Wind the lever to make the the dial move. Another lever at the bottom of the clock makes the cuckoo come out of the clock.
A 3D hollow swan charm.
A 2D bull charm.
A 3D monument charm.
A wonderful finely detailed 3D gilt moving automobile. The wheels move. The front wheels move from side to side and the back wheels turn.
The last charm is highly likely to have been purchased in Germany as it is .800 silver. This enamel shield shows the coat of arms of Germany. A black eagle with red feet and tongue on a golden field. This is the Bundesadler or "Federal Eagle", formerly the Reichsadler or "Imperial Eagle". It is a re-introduction of the coat of arms of the Weimar Republic (in use 1919–1935) that was adopted by the Federal Republic of Germany in 1950. The current official design is attributed to Tobias Schwab (1887–1967) and was introduced in 1928.

The charm bracelet measures 18.4 cm / 7 1/4" inches when closed and weighs 42.6 grams.
