The lid is embellished with an enchanting Blue Tit perched on a twig surrounded by orange blossom. Such an evocative scene that brings 1960s Britain to mind. The minutely detailed scene is in low relief and a joy to behold!
The compact is presented with the original presentation box, black felt pouch, luxury puff, velour edged sifter, padded paper insert, inspection docket and instruction leaflet. This vanity was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel which will stop it from tarnishing and prevent the need for cleaning. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The base is decorated with smooth gold tone stars on an engine background and signed Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND. Measures 3 inches diameter. Weighs 75 grams.
