The lid is decorated with silvery grey enamel adorned with very colourful and finely observed aquilegia, also known as columbine. The design is signed by the artist (D Hudson). The compact has not been used with powder and so it is in very good condition. This compact is an early Stratton Princess made in either 1953 or 1954. The original box is included. Cream coloured pearlized paper with the Compact-In-Hand logo is printed on the box in blue ink. It is so good to see the item code on the side of the box 525/235 and the word SILVER referring to the silver grey enamel. The original pouch, puff and sifter are present. The catches and hinges work perfectly. The bevelled mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The inner lid is signed Stratton. The base is decorated with vertical lines. Measures 3 inches diameter and weighs 93 grams.
