Rare Stratton Racing Greyhound Punt powder compact
Rare & with all the original accessories. This model of compact was only known to be available in 1940 & 1952 & this lid decoration is very rare too. The Stratton dog themed compacts are highly collectible. The breeds of dogs picked for these decorations were either elegant or much en vogue at the time of production. This subject is both - a beautiful Greyhound racing at full speed - so smart in her red collar! The enamel lid is superb - no damage or loss. A gem of a compact & if this wasn't enough it comes with all the original accessories even the box.

This beautiful enamel lid lifts to reveal a beautifully gilded interior. The pretty gilt mirror bezel is signed 'STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND'. The mirror is excellent & gives a clear reflection. The powder well contains the original pale pink velvet edged sifter & the original puff too. The puff is signed 'Stratton' & shows the logo of a lady's hand holding a compact aloft. The black felt pouch too is in very good condition. The box is signed Stratton & it is decorated with the same logo that adorns the puff on a luxurious pearlised material. Measures 2 3/8" X 2 1/4" & weighs 66.2 grams.
