Assayed at London in 1873 this high quality piece is adorned with ornate repoussage scrollwork and floral motifs. The vermeil interior of the lid is as vibrant as it was back in the day. The gilt reverse view of the repoussage a joy to behold! The original stopper is in place and the whole item is in super condition. The hinged lid works and fits perfectly. Measures 5.5 cm and weighs 22.6 grams. The base bears the hallmarks and an ornate two letter monogram which is so elaborate it could be - S H, P H or F H.
