An unused and rare 1950s Mascot musical handbag compact.
We have not had this model with this lid decoration in the collection before. Such a gorgeous novelty compact mirror! This is the best musical handbag compact we have found. The lid has a fabric inlay which is adorned with tiny sequins.
The exterior base has an engine turned design. The interior case is just as delightful as the outer case. Gleaming clean and shiny the powder well lid is signed 'Mascot'. The interior is decorated with embossed musical notes. The mirror gives a clear and accurate reflection. The puff is signed 'Mascot ASB' in gilt lettering. The sifter has a pink velour edge and cream tab. There are no signs of any powder. The black pouch is decorated with golden clover motifs. The music plays well. This is a very sound little music box. The mirror has a couple of age related marks. Measures almost 3" and weighs 133.2 grams.
