Rare Stratton Ballerina / Ballet Themed Lipstick Mirror / Holder 1950s
A rare 1950s enamel Stratton ballet themed lipstick mirror. This is the first time we have seen a Stratton lipstick mirror adorned with a ballet scene.The ballerina portrayed is Violetta Elvin. The lipstick mirror is in good condition & it comes with the original presentation box. The enamel scene is enchanting - an exquisitely beautiful scene which does not have any enamel fading or loss.
This scene was taken from a photograph by the society photographer Baron & it bears his signature. The lid shows the ballerina Violetta Elvin dancing in Sleeping Beauty. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror is excellent & it gives an accurate and clear reflection. The top of the lipstick holder is signed Stratton PAT. No 653293. The base of the lipstick holder is signed Stratton No2 . Measures just over 11.5 cm. Weighs 36.1 grams.
