This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with modern loose & solid / pressed face powder or as a handbag mirror.
The powder compact still has the original silk and fabric puff which is signed 'Mascot' in gilt lettering. The original mirror sticker is still in place and it reads as follows 'THIS COMPACT CAN BE USED FOR EITHER LOOSE OR SOLID POWDER MADE IN ENGLAND'. The card edged sifter is like the puff - pristine. The original instruction leaflet still in the gleaming gilt powder well states 'THIS POWDER BOX IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR THE USE OF CREAM POWDER SIMPLY PUSH THE POWDER TIN INTO WELL WHEN EMPTY EASE OUT TIN WITH POINTED OBJECT THROUGH HOLE IN THE BACK'. The original sticker to seal the base if loose powder was intended to be used is still in place. The base has a striking gilt engine turned design. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. Both items and the presentation box look like they have spent the last sixty plus years sat in a cupboard.
The matching lipstick holder and mirror is super too. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. All gilt and satinized they are a lovely duo. Measures 7 cm and weighs 48.8 grams.
