Vintage Jewellery Silver Wedding Themed 1970s Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet
This is a beautiful wedding themed sterling silver charm bracelet. It was made in the 1970s. This is a good quality gourmet chain bracelet with the traditional padlock heart clasp. Each of the charms have been chosen for their symbolism regarding the marriage and married life and as a talisman to bring the wearer good luck.
The charms are vintage English sterling silver (except for the wedding hat which is 800 silver). These charms are much more detailed than modern charms. The bracelet measures 18.5 cm (over 7 inches) when closed. The curb height is 5 mm. The sterling silver heart padlock clasps in stamped "SILVER".
Charm bracelets were usually added to during the life time of the owner to mark important events.

A 3D opening hinged church charm. Open the charm to see the vicar conducting the wedding ceremony with the bride and groom stood before him.

A 3D opening hinged bagpipe charm. The music of the bagpipes is so often a feature in the most traditional of weddings. The charm opens to reveal a figure wearing a kilt performing a traditional Scottish dance.
A perfect sterling silver Yale key. There are three keys on this bracelet, representing the home, of course.
A 3D opening hinged post box charm. As this bracelet was made well before internet communication invitations would have been sent out via Royal Mail. This charming little post box is correct in every tiny detail - complete with "E II R" (Queen Elizabeth II - Elizabeth Regina).
A 3D antique telephone to represent the other way to spread the happy news.
The next two are a 3D tankard and 3D tankard top. Just like the other charms they are perfect miniatures of the real items and very detailed. These, of course, represent the feasting and drinking after the wedding ceremony.
Two perfect keys - one a Yale type and the other for a mortice lock. Such delightful attention to detail - the Yale key has "MADE IN ENGLAND" in tiny embossed letters. The key fob is engraved "IF FOUND RETURN TO". On the back of the fob it is stamped "STERLING SILVER".
A remarkably well modeled 3D ram which has the maker's mark and a full set of hallmarks. The ram has been a long held Christian symbol of protection, determination, action, initiative and leadership.
The charm bracelet measures 18.5 cm / 7.2 inches when closed and weighs 44.2 grams.
