The lid is the most gorgeous matte black enamel with an undulating keyboard & musical notes. A pretty gilt clasp holds the lid down. Once removed a loaded spring opens the lid to reveal a beautiful gilt interior. The original mirror sticker in place stating that the tune this musical powder box plays is called 'Oklahoma'. Turn the winder key clockwise to hear the music play. A charming vanity with a musical movement that plays well. The inner lid opens to reveal a pristine orange fabric puff with a sash signed 'Volupte' in gilt letters. The card edged sifter too is pristine. The lipstick holder still works well & the whole powder box is in superb condition. The base is satinized & gilt. The soft yellow felt pouch is beautiful. Even the original box looks like it has just sat in a cupboard for around seventy years. The box is signed 'VOLUPTE' & on the base '16 6538 13 OKLAHOMA'. This is probably the best one of this model you will see. Measures 3 1/4" X 2 1/4" & weighs 216.3 grams.
