The gold has been rendered to give the appearance of fur. Even the smallest features can be seen - his eyes, muzzle, ears & horns. His tail is curled over his back. The hallmarks are clear and easy to read 9 .375 (9ct gold) anchor (assayed in Birmingham) S (1942) H. G & S (Henry Griffth & Sons).
